This is the second part I did for the Christmas Elf activity. I did a reply letter from Santa. This was also fun create. The hardest thing to do, was getting the right colour for my letter. The easiest thing was writing the letter because I love writing! This was probably one of the funnest activity's I've done!!!

Will Ralphie get his job back?
This is my Christmas Elf activity. The first thing I did was make an envelope. This was really easy because I used a tool called line and a rectangle. Then I wrote the address (the North Pole, obviously.)
Then who it was for. Then I created the letter. I used a scroll from shapes then started writing. I named the naughty elf Ralphie because Ralphie sounds like a naughty boy. Once I finished writing I decorated the letter because I thought that it would seem like an elf to do something like that! This was really fun to make!

Wrapping paper!
The last activity I chose to do was the wrapping paper! I decided to do the Rudolf level, which had the theme of Christmas trees. I chose to do the Christmas trees because I had an idea to put presents on my wrapping paper. The hardest thing was probably designing the Christmas tree because I had to work with curve and curve is quite hard to use. One thing new I found out about google drawing was how to add a background. You have to click on the google drawing with 2 fingers! This was really fun to make!
Spot the difference!
For the third activity for my Christmas Countdown I decided to make a Christmas wreath! I did the Rudolf level which was probably the easiest level. I chose to do the easiest level because I'm still learning how to use google drawings! I think I did a pretty good replica of a wreath because it kind of looks the same as the picture I used. I think I am getting really good at google drawings. Can you spot the difference? By the way, there are heaps of differences.

MOG SAVES THE DAY!
This is my 2nd Christmas Countdown activity! I chose to do the writing task. I picked a video called Mog's Christmas Calamity. This video is about a cat who ends up nearly burning down his owners house. He saves the day by accidentally calling the fire brigade. He also saved the day because his family thought they couldn't have Christmas. But they were wrong, the whole community came together to celebrate Christmas. The moral of the story is:Christmas is for sharing!
"This is Paige here, reporting from Texas. Breaking news, a cat is the town superhero. This very little feline saved the day by calling the fire brigade. This family should be really happy that they have a cat like this! Not only did this little kitty save the day, he also brought the whole town together to share Christmas! This is Bob, a witness from this very happy event."
"Hi I am the owner of Mog, the cat that saved Christmas! If it wasn't for my lovely cat, our whole house would have been burnt down! I can't believe someone evil would do this to my house! Yes, not only did Mog save our house, he also brought the whole community together to have Christmas!"
"Thank you Bob. Now, everyone at home that is watching this, Christmas is for sharing! Now up next we have Heather reporting about the weather. Merry Christmas everyone!"

I decided to do research first because I love researching things! I decided to research about Santa! I think my first Christmas activity is set to a high standard.

Year 6 Bike Ride
This year I am finally a year 6, which means I get to go on the year 6 bike ride! When I was a year 5 I was so jealous that the year 6's got to go on the bike ride. I was most excited for the Maccas stop!
When we found out our car information I was with Asha. That was good but then above that it said we are going with a teacher! It would either Mr Fraser or Miss Sowden. We hoped it would be with Miss Sowden... and it was! We were so happy!
When we got there we were ready to go! My gears were in the wrong place so I had to go to the back and get an adult to help me. When I changed my gears, I felt really fast on my bike. We had to stop at a certain place, so I caught up with the crew. When we took off again I was keeping up with the boys! I was really proud of myself for that. We rode and rode until we stopped and went too take a look at the waterfall! It was beautiful! Then we set of to this really old place to have lunch!
Once we had lunch we had to it all over again. We had to ride all the way back. But the only change to our track was that we had to go on a narrow foot path by the gorge. This was really scary because some bits were downhill and the path was really narrow! But we all managed not to fall over!
We kept riding till we got back to our cars. We then drove to McDonalds! This was my favourite part. I got an ice-cream, a cheese burger and a small chips!

Cooking!
The last rotation the Knowledge Seekers did was cooking! We got to cook a banana boat which is marshmallows and chocolate chips in a banana that is slit open. Then we got to cook a potato with ham and cheese on it.
These things were really easy to prepare. For the banana boat the banana was already slit open so you just had to stuff marshmallows and chocolate chips in it. For the potatoes you had to cut your potato in half and put ham on cheese on it. When I ate the potato I called it a hamburger. I liked the ham and cheese in it, but I didn't really like the potato. When I tried the banana boat I was in love!!! The chocolate chips had melted and it tasted so good with roasted marshmallows. This was really fun and yummy! I LOVE COOKING!!!

FIRE!
The second activity we did was making a fire. In this activity we had to build a base of a fire with some sticks and something else that I can't remember the name of. We also had to have a go at making sparks with flint and steel!
The first thing my troop did was making a base of the fire. This was really easy because all you had to do is build a little tee pee with sticks. Then my troop went to the flint and steel. People that had done it before said that it was really hard to get sparks. When I hit it first I got no sparks, the next time I hit it I got a whole bunch of sparks! When all the groups had a go at making the base of the fire and making sparks with flint and steel, Mrs Kennedy tried to make a actual fire. This didn't work because there was too much wind. My favourite part was making sparks with flint and steel because I could actually get sparks!

Orienteering
For the past few weeks we have been doing something called Whetu Survivor. In this we have been researching all the things you need to know to survive in the bush. Once we finished doing that we celebrated and did some cooking, orienteering and learning how to start a fire. The first rotation the Knowledge Seekers did was the orienteering!
In the orienteering we had a map with clues on where to find the keys. The keys were letters, each time we found a key we had to write it down on a piece of paper. Once you had found all the keys, you needed to unscramble them which had to be the answer to this question:What do bears call campers in sleeping bags? At first my group were just making up random words. After a while we starting complaining that we don't have bears in NZ. Then Miss Sowden said that the answer was edible and straight away I knew that the answer was burrito! I think we were the first group to get the answer! I really enjoyed this and at the same time I found it really challenging! I would love to do it again!
